mashallah…. al islam is doing a very great work and has changed the life of many… the new website looks very good better than the previous one….but we still have to do a lot more

The design is looking very clean and nice. Some tips:

- being able to edit the resources might cause some problems with incorrect/inappropriate content. There should be a group of moderators who are trusted to review the changes. There can also be some members who have made many good contributions and become “trusted”, so they can make changes without having to go through moderation.

- the arrows at the top for previous/next page should also be at the bottom of the page.

- in the last post on the blog, you showed that there will be 5-star ratings for each resource. Shouldn’t these ratings be given at the same time as the the review in the image above?

Mashallah, it’s looking very good so far. I think there’s a few things that can improved:

- the quote should be shown more prominently (for example you can change the colour of the text or the background behind it or you can move it on top of “New to Islam?”)

- why is the Al-Islam.org logo different on the three pages? I think you should put the first logo on all the pages.

- just a little thing but maybe the sub-headings should be centered over the image in the Featured Resources section.

- another little thing is that it would be better is if the folder icon in Browse Library changed to an open folder (or something similar) when it is expanded.

I think that you would receive a lot more feedback if more people knew about the blog. It should be shown more obviously on the front page. For example, something like: http://tinypic.com/r/8wkuax/7

That layout should be just as fast, if not faster, than the old one.

To the devs:

Its looking very nice but the right column is wasting space (unless you’re going to add other things to it) it can easily be moved or made smaller. Also one thing that I would like would be using actual text for the Arabic rather than images.

What matters the most to me is ease of accessibility. The best way to ensure that is to turn off all Java/Flash/Script whatever else you have on your browser and try to load the page that way. Or use a computer that is about ten years old or older. If it takes too long on the old computer, or if you cannot load it without fancy gimmickry, it probably won’t be accessible. Not everyone has the most current information technology at their fingertips, and we have to keep that in mind.

Thanks for the feedback. Inshallah we’ll be working on the user interface & colors. These mockups are only indicative of what features will be included in the new Al-Islam.

We’ll keep in mind the other points you mentioned.
